Episode 9 of “These Are Your Neighbors” features Nancy Guy. Nancy was invited to be a guest because of her work in public service including being Bismarck City Commissioner for two terms. Nancy has advocated for changes in various levels of local and state government. Nancy has been a changemaker in our community by advocating for Bismarck to go forward with changes to ensure we are a welcoming community to all.Nancy Guy is grounded in public service. Her father, William Guy, became governor of ND when she was two years old. Nancy was Bismarck City Commissioner from 2014-2022. Nancy has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Nancy was the Operations Director at Community Works North Dakota. Her other work experience includes being a business owner, software developer and an independent insurance agent. Nancy has given back to her community through volunteering. Some of the organizations where she has volunteered include Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café, Ministry on the Margins, and the ND Women’s Network. Nancy believes that Bismarck was a terrific place to grow up and is still a terrific place to live, work and raise a family. Nancy has lived in large metropolitan communities but would trade Bismarck for any of them.
