David Arnold King was the tenth Director of the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
King joined NASA as a main propulsion system engineer. In subsequent roles, he served on the Space Shuttle Discovery and as deputy director of the Marshall Space Flight Center until his appointment as director. David King was the senior on-site NASA official during recovery operations for the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. King is now the President of Dynetics, Inc., a Huntsville-based defense contractor.
