To have everything go as planned, to be able to determine at least the faucets of our own lives... this is one thing that most teenagers moving into adults yearn for. A life without the restrictions of someone breathing over your shoulder and the truth is this is what makes it different. When we actually grow up and we feel those reins slipping out of our hands, we don't like it one bit. We don't like the feeling that it presents and this is why most people strive for independence and even though we don't realise, we can unconsciously drag this feeling of independence into our walk with God.The truth is, God does not seek to tune us into mindless puppets but how do we see this when the very nature we have resists him?
