Listen "S2 E18 Mental Health in Women's Football with Carly Perry"
Episode Synopsis
On today's episode Brad gets the chance to speak to expert in mental health in women's football, Carly Perry. Carly grew up in the States and comes in with a different past experience of sport psychology / wellbeing growing up as an athlete than most guests we speak to on the podcast. This is largely due to cultural difference between the US and UK, which is a recurring theme throughout this episode. We also get the chance to go into detail on Carly's PhD project which was extremely useful for us and will help to inform the work we do with young female academy players in Scotland in the coming weeks.
Other interesting discussion focuses on ACL injury in female footballers, moving to the UK to study at Loughborough, differences in UK uni sport vs US college sport, improving sport psych in the UK and of course tips for young athletes.
Another great episode in which we learned loads, we hope you enjoy!
