Episode Synopsis
We're taking a break from the movie talk this week and getting into some old school comics as we take a look at the classic Batman storyline Knightfall. Back in the '90s, DC Comics was struggling to compete with the likes of Marvel's X-Men and the new kids on the block over at Image Comics. So they drummed up media attention by killing off their flagship character, Superman. Then it came time to shake up the status quo for the Caped Crusader. That came in the form of a new villain called Bane, who saw the Batman as the "king" of Gotham City and coveted that role. Bane then devised a brilliant plan that led to the breaking of Batman's spirit and, ultimately, the breaking of Bruce Wayne's back. This paved the way for an all-new Batman to take over the mantle for a while... But something about this new armored Batman was just a little off.
We get into all of the dark twists and turns that the Knightfall story takes, including its follow-up arcs with KnightQuest and KnightsEnd.
