Mike is a San Diego native whose passion lies in being an energy advocate and voice of O&G with a focus on California. Mike and his team at Premier Resource Management operate in Kern County, California where they are anxiously waiting for the rights to be able to drill and develop their asset. In 2019, Kern was ranked the #7 oil-producing county in the nation, yielding 119 million bbl of oil and 129 billion CF of gas annually, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data. These amounts represent 71% of California's oil production and 3% of the total U.S. oil production. (Kern Economic Development Foundation, 2021) Mike and Justin also discuss the importance of educating the general population about domestic energy production and how today’s media landscape inhibits people’s ability to consume real and accurate information about energy.  To help solve the challenge of misinformation, Mike describes how important it is for oil and gas companies to empower their people to have a voice, whether that’s through social media, social gatherings, or publications.
