Phil Thomas is the CEO of Ascential Events, and was previously the CEO of Cannes Lions for almost 10 years, where before that he was the Managing Director of Emap and FHM, and the Editor of Empire Magazine. To say his career has been varied is an understatement having witnessed the rise, fall and rise again of the magazine industry as well as the boom of the events industry.
