Send us a textWe now begin a study in the book of Joel. We know very little about the prophet Joel. We only have a rough idea of when this prophecy was written. It is a little book with a big message. The theme of this book is the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is still before us on the near horizon. In Joel we get a snapshot of what is to come. There is much we can learn in preparation of what lies before us.The book starts with a tremendously devasting event. The land has been devoured by locust in unprecedented fashion. The cause is almost certainly disobedience to God's word. After reviewing this tragedy in great detail, Joel calls on the people to repent. Repentance is the key purity within the church.
