Do we place our trust in government, the economy, education, ministries or the church, career, relationships, medicine or science? Do we actually think that our country, this world is going to get better? Everything that we make alliances with other than God will ultimately fail. Our alliances, our expectation must be in Jesus Christ and His word alone. As the old hymn says, "On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand."When all that we have built our lives on fails, we are left with the burning question, "How shall we escape?" What a great place to be. How great when God removes everything from our lives save Himself. A day is fast approaching when the true church of God will be stripped of everything but Jesus Christ, His word, the power of the Holy Spirit and the fellowship of the saints. What a great day that will be!The return of Christ is at hand.
