Listen "V8SP: Darren Hossack (Part 2)"
Episode Synopsis
We’re talking to multiple national champion Darren Hossack on this week’s episode of the V8 Sleuth Podcast polished by Bowden’s Own.
In the second and final part of our two-part chat, Darren shares more stories from his long career in motorsport. We start out with two infamous crashes from 1998; the first of which isn’t well known, while the other in Bathurst 1000 practice wasn’t technically a crash until two other cars turned up. He shares stories from his last three drives in the ‘Great Race’ with Romano Racing in 1999, Kmart Racing in 2000 and Ford Performance Racing in 2003.
He also talks about taking over John Gourlay’s Saab Sports Sedan - including shaking it down on the Thunderdome! - and his tense rivalry with Tony Ricciardello and his iconic Alfa Romeo GTV, through to moving into a new Audi A4 Sports Sedan designed and built by Gourlay and Hossack’s dad. He also opens up on his injuries from a nasty speedway crash in 2015 that ended his time in the Audi, and plenty more. He also tackles your National Motor Racing Museum Couch Racer Questions.
