The three-time New Zealand Grand Prix winner also chats about the Kiwi star that played a big role in his development – and the other Kiwi legend that threatened to stab him with a screwdriver after a racing incident! – and racing against future F1 and IndyCar drivers in Formula Atlantic over the summer months at home. We also chat about his move into touring cars, his first Bathurst 1000 start and racing BMWs in South Africa where he drove with the late Sabine Schmitz. He also opens up on his disqualification after winning the 1997 AMP Bathurst 1000, and what it was like being a teammate to F1 legend Nigel Mansell.
