Listen "A Climate Report Card for Vancouver’s City Council"
Episode Synopsis
Did you know that Vancouver is the only major Canadian city where all voters can vote for every seat up for election? Don’t be intimidated, advises Auston Chhor. This is your opportunity to ask your city to address the climate crisis.
Chhor, a biologist, identified six major climate votes from the current council, including The Climate Levy, a lawsuit against big oil and a separated bike lane on Commercial Drive. He scored each of Vancouver’s 10 municipal parties, based on their votes.
Written by Auston Chhor who is a biologist, photographer and community organizer living in Vancouver.
