Several have been fired for merely quoting Kirk, including a Black Washington Post columnist who posted Kirk’s racist remarks. Rania and Eugene will discuss right-wing cancel culture, Trump exploiting Kirk’s death to target left-wing groups, silence his critics, and eviscerate free speech. Voulette Mansour, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement joins the show to discuss the new People’s Arms Embargo campaign to stop the flow of F-35 fighter jet parts to the Oakland International Airport. The airport operates as a major hub for shipments of military cargo to Israel that has enabled the two-year genocide in Gaza. Jonis Ghedi-Alasow, director of Pan Africanism Today, joins the show to discuss the second anniversary of the Alliance of Sahel States. The alliance between Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger formed as the result of the popular anti-colonial uprising that swept Niger in 2023. Ghedi-Alasow will discuss how AES, a counterweight to the Western-backed ECOWAS, has put the region on the path to building lasting sovereignty from Western pressure, threats of military intervention and extremist violence. Carley Riggins, a Community organizer with the Akron Palestine Solidarity Collective and the Ohio Divest Coalition, joins the show to discuss the “No New Bonds” campaign, a statewide push to force Ohio to stop funneling hundreds of millions into Israel bonds that bankroll occupation, settlement expansion, and the genocide in Gaza. Ohio had more money invested in Israel bonds than any other state in the country before Oct. 2023.
