A friend of mine and I were invited to dinner. It was a long trip, away from urban Antalya. We experienced real traditional Kurdish hospitality. This family plied us with food and they had so much to ask about where we come from. The neighborhood was agog with news of our presence. The neighbors were glad to exchange greetings and I tried to reply all the ‘hellos’, especially from the children. I bet we were the first Africans most of them were seeing up close, and they came into the house to greet us and partake in the dinner which I will describe, without fear of exaggeration, as being a banquet.
