Listen "Oscar Piastri brings the noise in Baku"
Episode Synopsis
In the latest episode of The Total Motorsport F1 Show, sees host Joe Krishnan joining Kevin Magnussen on the bench with Dov Schiavone taking the wheel for one race only, and he’s joined by F1 journalist Adam Dickinson and special guest Sam Cooper of PlanetF1.com to dissect the critical moments from the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The trio discuss Oscar Piastri’s scintillating performance in Baku, as the McLaren driver put all talk of team orders aside to cooly dispatch of Charles Leclerc and claim his second win of the 2024 F1 season. The conversation then shifts to Ferrari, and whether the Italian team should have done better given the situation they found themselves in, with Leclerc now failing to take victory in Azerbaijan despite starting from pole position in each of the last four years. Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz had a monumental crash on the penultimate lap in Baku, but who was to blame? The panel have their say on the incident. There is also room to discuss Lando Norris heroic drive from P15 to P4 in Baku, even passing Max Verstappen on the way, as he kept his title charge alive. The hosts ponder the fate of Red Bull, who have been usurped by McLaren atop the Constructor Standings, with the fortunes of the Milton Keynes outfit not looking much better as we approach the Singapore GP.Additionally, the performances of F1 rookies Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman are also assessed. Finally, the spotlight turns to Singapore and how the race could be pivotal in the Drivers’ Championship with Red Bull expected to get their act together by the time Formula 1 reaches the Circuit of the Americas in mid-October.
