Listen "Tim Southee - World Test Champion"
Episode Synopsis
Tim Southee, Blackcaps seamer and recent member of New Zealand's elite 300 Test wicket club, joins the show to re-live the glory of the World Test Championship Final and the tour to England.
We talk celebrations, the mace's journey home, what it means to win an ICC tournament after coming so close in 2015 and 2019, and the growth of this Blackcaps side during Tim's impressive career.
Tim insightfully leads us through the key moments of the win against India. From searching 'Southampton weather' countless times, to the Test's first hour, Kyle Jamieson winning the battle with Virat Kohli, the drop and dismissal of Rishabh Pant and nerves in the dressing room as Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor steered New Zealand to victory.
To finish the show, we look ahead to the next 6 months for the Blackcaps and give Tim a huge shout out for auctioning a match-worn shirt to raise funds for Holly Beattie. Outstanding work, Tim.
