Listen "1. Commentary on Mind & The Purpose of Surrender"
Episode Synopsis
Excerpts from the Commentary on Mind message covered in this episode:
- "...the process of awakening is also the process of learning not to believe the stories of the mind."
- "Surrender does not see the mind's problems and solutions as important. It puts aside the mind's stories and listens in the moment for direct communication from me."
Excerpts from The Purpose of Surrender message:
- "We are going to learn not to listen to the mind, first, by listening to another Voice, which speaks through the mind, but does not speak from mind, for mind or with mind."
- "The question, 'What am I to do now?' is a fully inclusive question in which the one who perceives himself as having a separate body and separate mind turns that seemingly separate entity over fully and entirely so that no seeming independence can be said to remain as separate and on its own existence."
Assignment for week 1: Do your best to remember to ask “What am I to do now?” Try to feel for what feels right. Start playing with this, start practicing this, start having whatever experiences you’re going to have – remembering, forgetting, resistance, feeling in the flow, recognizing the intuition, not recognizing the intuition – wherever you start, start.
The audios in this 16-episode podcast are from a study group that was led by Regina Dawn Akers in Pueblo, Colorado in 2016. They have been lightly edited.
