Buenas! My name is Laura, but you can call me Laurita. I am a proud Colombiana, born in Medellin, Antioquia. I have always been prideful of my beautiful country and the people that make it so special. I am on the tricky journey of finding out who I am, who my ancestors are, and what my purpose on this green earth is. I have a long journey ahead of me, but in the meantime, I wanted to support & advocate for the Indigenous communities of Colombia.
About a year ago I started brainstorming different business ideas and then it dawned on me how cool and special it would be to support artisans straight from the motherland! I partnered up with 4 communities & families who are gifted artisans, pattern makers, and designers.
I started Pülasü ancestral with the intention of helping preserve their traditions by working closely with artisans who make every piece on my page and not only showcasing their pieces, but also talking about the history, meaning, and purpose of their handcrafts. I’m super serious and motivated to make changes happen by creating lasting social & financial change in these communities by ensuring they’re getting paid a fair price for their work that helps them get closer to financial freedom.
