Winifred is a passionate advocate, best-selling author, enthusiastic speaker and founder of Dyslexia Advocation, Inc. After working for a public school district, serving as an administrator of a special education school and going through the special education process with her daughter, Winifred quickly realized Black parents lacked accurate information about dyslexia interventions and instructional strategies. With her lay off as Director of Workforce Development at a local non profit due to the pandemic - this has allowed Winifred to follow her passion and build Dyslexia Advocation, Inc, so other Black parents won't experience the challenges she faced while advocating for her daughter.
