In recent years, the term "cancel culture" has become more and more prevalent. The idea behind cancel culture is that if someone says or does something that is perceived as offensive, they should be "cancelled" or shunned by society. This can take the form of boycotts, public shaming, and even violence.
YouTube has not been immune to the phenomenon of cancel culture. YouTubers who have been accused of racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry have been "cancelled" by the YouTube community. Their videos have been demonetised, their channels have been banned, and they have been blacklisted
