Colac Area Health's Ami Hillage says a fun afternoon on the green that’s raised over $125,000 since 2014 to support local healthcare.========================================Corangamite Shire Council is calling on locals to have their say on the Draft Budget for 2025–2026.Mayor Kate Makin says community input is vital to make sure the Budget reflects local priorities.The Draft Budget is available now on the Corangamite Shire's website and the Camperdown Civic Centre.Feedback closes Sunday 1 June.========================================Colac Otway Shire Council is updating its Road Management Plan with a strong focus on spotting road defects early to improve safety and cut maintenance costs.The draft 2025–2029 plan is now open for public comment, with an emphasis on proactive inspections and clearer response timelines for repairs.========================================The State Government has announced a major investment in regional roads under what it’s calling the Billion Dollar Better Roads Blitz.The funding package was revealed Friday morning.========================================Hundreds of Victorians - particularly those in drought affected areas such as South West Victoria - will today be attending Melbourne in a last ditch effort to protest the Emergency Services Levy fund which passed through government last week.Shadow Minister for Agriculture Emma Healey says she has been blown away by the amount of people supporting the levy.========================================Irrewillipe CFA will be one of many across the state which will close down in protest of the recent emergency services levy passing in Government last week.Protests will be held in Melbourne, Geelong and even locally in Camperdown.========================================AND IN SPORTTwo big wins for the Colac Braves at the weekend.In Division 2, Brendan Delorenzo was a standout, notching three hits and striking out eight batters as the Braves downed Deakin 13–7.Division 4 celebrated a special milestone, with Darren Morrissy starring in his 400th game.The Braves cruised past Lara Wildcats 15–1, powered by early runs, aggressive base running, and a solid pitching display from Saxon Cooper.========================================In the weekends netball results -In the COLAC AND DISTRICT Competition - Irrewarra Beeac defeated South Colac 57-50.Simpson beat the Western Eagles, 49 - 41.Colac Imperials 45 beat Otway Districts 45 - 41.WHILE Alvie got the best of Lorne 47-36.In the HAMPDEN OPEN COMPETITIONCobden smashed North Warrnambool 51-27WHILE Camperdown was beaten by South Warrnambool 66-40.In the GEELONG A Grade competitionColac went down 78 - 31 to St Joseph's.========================================The 20th Great Ocean Road Running Festival has smashed records, with over 11,000 runners taking part and more than $177,000 raised for charity.Great Britain’s Elliott Preater won the Ultra Marathon in 4 hours 20 minutes, while Victorian Dion Finocchiaro took out the Melrose Marathon.In the Half Marathon, Sebastian Asher crossed first.The event also marked $40,000 raised for the Apollo Bay Health Foundation.====================See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
