Night Music with Quincy Jones

Listen "Night Music with Quincy Jones"

Episode Synopsis

His career spanned 70 years, with 28 Grammy Awards won out of 80 nominations, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992.  Chicago's Quincy Delight Jones Jr. left us today at the age of 91. He came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before working on pop music and film scores. From Sinatra to Aretha Franklin to Ray Charles to Donna Summer and many, many others too numerous to mention, he's probably best known for USA For Africa's We Are The World project and Michael Jackson's Thriller (still the biggest selling album of all time with over 51.3 million copies sold).I wanted to do something of his today and chose, like I did with Sanborn, to do a Night Music featuring some of his more romantic pop/r'n'b work. But I could have picked thousands of more directions to go with this one. I hope you enjoy the music and can share some good memories with someone close to you tonight. And thank you Q for all you left behind for us. Rest in peace and harmony Maestro...00:00 Prelude & The Erotic Garden (After Hours Version) feat Al B.
