Listen "The Great Commission"
Episode Synopsis
The Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-20Jesus, reminds us of his omnipotence, and commissions his disciples to go into the whole world and make disciples. They are to TEACH - Christian ministry is a teaching work, for we make disciples by teaching the doctrines of the faith, so that sinners will come under conviction of sin, repent and trust the Saviour. After that teaching ministry and related to it, comes Baptism (and Holy Communion) - the Christian call to ministry is a call to Word and Sacrament. The sacraments are visual aids of the gospel, illustrations of our Christ focussed cross c centred message.Jesus also tells us how baptism is to be done, with a Trinitarian formula, we baptise in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In our current climate of woke hatred for the Bible and Christianity we will not fond it easy to obey the Great Commission, but we have a cast iron promise from Christ, that He IS with us - right until the end of the world. This address was recorded at Ballymacashon, so it contains extraneous sounds, echo, and a yapping dog at a neighbouring house!READ THE NOTES HERE.
