Nick Leeson is a former derivatives broker who worked at the bank Barings, the oldest merchant bank in London, which, as a result of rogue trader activity and speculative, unauthorised moves he made from 1992, suffered over a billion dollars of loses and folded. This resulted in global notoriety for Nick.
Nick was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and after being released in 1999, Nick wrote a book in prison called ‘Rogue Trader’ which was turned into a film, he is a regular after dinner speaker, and recently appeared on celebrity Big Brother in which he finished 4th.
In an honest and open interview, Nick reflects on the drive for success and how there was only one place for him… the top, ultimately leading to the huge losses he brought upon Barings. Nick talks about how he got through prison, suffering from cancer and the knowledge he imparts on his audiences and his children.
