Baroness Tanni-Grey Thompson wheelchair racer and one of the most successful disability athletes in the UK. Having competed at 5 Paralympic games between 1988 and 2004, Tanni won 16 Paralympic medals, 11 gold, to go with her 13 world championship medals of which 6 were gold. She also held over 30 world records and won the London marathon six times.
Since racing, Tanni has been in the public eye as a television presenter, a university chancellor and a politician amongst many other roles. Tanni sits on boards as varied as that of the London Marathon and Transport for London and is patron of numerous charities campaigning for disability benefits which still have a long way to go in her view
