In his Bible study, Learning how to live again, Dr. Jack Hayford explains that a key in the deliverance of slaves was learning how to get rid of slave mentality, which they had developed during their years of servitude. This slave mentality can be found in the lives of believers in Jesus Christ. In Matthew 13:58 we read: "Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief (or lack of faith)." A slave mind-set that says, "It's too good to be true," cynicism and doubt can lock out the possibility of God's miraculous provision... but not today!
