Timmy Lee sits down with American film and TV composer, Tyler Strickland, to talk about the music for his latest documentary, John Candy: I Like Me (2025), which premiered as the opening film for TIFF 50. The movie chronicles the life and career of legendary Canadian comedian and actor, John Candy, using interviews with Candy’s family and friends and never-before-seen archival home footage and audio commentary. John Candy: I Like Me is both a celebration and authentic portrayal of Candy and his work, exploring the impact he made on the film and comedy landscape and how his troubled personal life shaped and intertwined with his work.
