Episode Synopsis

Classical Apologetics: With Dr. Ken SamplesIn this theology podcast Kenneth R. Samples (a scholar from Reasons to Believe) joins Josh Lewis on The Remnant Radio to discuss the classical Apologetic arguments. We discuss the Cosmological Argument, the Teleological argument, the Ontological argument, the Moral Argument, the Transcendental Argument, and Presuppositional Arguments.Cosmological argument – Argues that the existence of the universe demonstrates that God exists. Various primary arguments from cosmology and the nature of causation are often offered to support the cosmological argument.Teleological argument – Argues that there is a purposeful design in the world around us, and a design requires a designer.Ontological argument – Argues that the very concept of God demands that there is an actual existent God.Moral Argument – Argues that there are objectively valid moral values, and therefore, there must be an absolute from which they are derived.Transcendental Argument – Argues that all our abilities to think and reason require the existence of God.Presuppositional Arguments – Argues that the basic beliefs of theists and non-theists require God as a necessary precondition. As a Reasons to Believe scholar Ken has a great passion to help people understand and see the truth and relevance of Christianity's truth-claims. His writings and lectures at Reasons to Believe focus on showing how the great doctrinal truths of the faith (the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Atonement, creation ex nihilo, salvation by grace, etc.) are uniquely compatible with reason. This approach reflects the historic Christian apologetic statement - "faith seeking understanding." Have you ever wondered if the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit—like prophecy, healing, and tongues—really stopped after the apostles? Cessationists claim they vanished throughout church history, but that's a myth. In Remnant Radio’s new ebook, History of Spiritual Gifts: The Myth of Cessationism, I dive into church history to reveal the active use of spiritual gifts by early church fathers 🙏 God’s been GOOD! 🙏 Watch our year-end message from Joshua Lewis & see how your support helps us resource & equip believers in God's Word & Spirit! If Remnant Radio has blessed you, would you consider partnering with us as we step into the new year?
