Human infections are largely linked to close contact with infected animals, such as during poultry culling or milking infected cattle. Raw milk is identified as a potential source of infection. While pets can contract the virus, often through contaminated food, community spread in humans remains limited, although changes could occur if human-to-human transmission increases significantly.
