Dr. SooJin Pate is a professor; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion professional; and writer dedicated to centering the lives and experiences of historically marginalized peoples. As a professor, she teaches courses on U.S. history and culture through the lens of race, class, gender, and sexuality in the Twin Cities area. As Co-owner and partner of Strategic Diversity Initiatives, she helps companies and organizations embed racial equity into their systems and processes. SooJin is the author of From Orphan to Adoptee: U.S. Empire and Genealogies of Korean Adoption and Co-host of the Antiracist Parenting Podcast. SooJin received her Ph.D. in American, Race & Ethnic Studies from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
