Listen "Give your life meaning and focus on the things that matter most to you | Jessica Shryack"
Episode Synopsis
To discover your life purpose, you must do one or all of the following: Be still and listen to your inner voice, practice meditation, go on a silent retreat, surround yourself with nature, and/or engage with people in a meaningful way about an important topic. These are just some of the ideas mentioned in this episode with my guest, Jessica Shryack, an Organizational Development Consultant, whose life work is to help teams collaboratively solve problems and develop a path forward. Jessica has over a decade of experience in managing organizational change in the college setting before creating her own consulting agency to work with social sector organizations like colleges and non-profits. She advises her clients on planning, project management, and evaluation. Jessica holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, and is passionate about using Living Room Conversations, a structured conversational model, to connect people across differences - a dialogue method she has deployed to over a thousand people throughout her remarkable career. Jessica’s work has changed many people’s lives and help turned organizations around for the better. Also, in this episode, Jessica shares how she was able to achieve the things in her career and in her own life; she gives credits to her good habits. She believes everyone can achieve their goals and dreams if they have a keen sense of self-awareness, know the kind of value they bring to society, and are proactive in prioritizing and executing tasks. Lastly, her advice to those who’re searching for meaning and purpose is to go slow to go fast, meaning that if we first change the way we think about things, we can quickly focus on the things that matter most to us and give us value in life.
