Eighty years ago, over 100 million people were killed or wounded in the World Anti-Fascist War. In the summer of 1945, 50 countries came together in San Francisco and agreed on an international treaty known as the UN Charter, which paved the way for the establishment of the United Nations later that year. This formed the political basis of a new international order, one that intended to enshrine the equal rights of all people and maintain peace. How has this order shaped the world we live in today?
