Listen "TPOE 215: Havvk"
Episode Synopsis
Dublin-based trio Havvk are Julie Hough (vocal, bass), Matt Harris (guitar) and Sam Campbell (drums) and they've just released their second record Levelling, which they say is an album about growing up and how our perceptions change over time, Levelling follows a chronology of life moments, whether that’s forming friendships, navigating societal expectations, managing your mental health, realising your identity and values, accepting loss, or letting go of regret.
Julie talks about recent anniversaries of System of a Down, Metallica and Spice Girls, before discussing relocations to London, Berlin and finally Dublin, and how the band has changed over the years. There's a sprinkling of nihilism and Rick & Morty in there for good measure too.
Havvk play the Workman's Club, Dublin, on September 29.
Outro music: Havvk: 'Halfway Out'
