Hermano Dr. John Hernandez is the new president of Irvine Valley College in California which leads all Orange County community colleges in transfers to UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Davis and UC Riverside. He previously served as president of Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California. He is a first-generation Cuban immigrant and pledged the Alpha Line at the Gamma Epsilon Graduate Chapter in Washington, D.C. at 38 years old when he was a PhD student at The University of Maryland College Park.
