Listen "The OHL Podcast with Steve Nimigon"
Episode Synopsis
Steve Nimigon never expected to play for the Erie Otters. An NHL draft pick of the Hartford Whalers, Nimigon thought he'd have turned pro the year the Niagara Falls Thunder left town to become the Erie Otters. But Nimigon not only played for the Otters, who wore the 'C' for the team, he got involved in every aspect of establishing an OHL franchise in a new market, and the Otters Humanitarian Award is named after him today. Nimigon is also credited with being among a core of players that helped pave the way for the Otters first championship in 2002.
