Listen "Identity and Status Threats"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I talk about some of the challenges (and possibilities) of navigating identity and status threats in the very non-linear world of well-intentioned movement building. While confronting, there are some essential human needs that movements must address, particularly the need to be seen and valued and the very real threat people feel when their sense of self is denied.I explore the emotional and psychological aspects of identity and self-worth in activism, as well as the complexities of status threats and privilege, highlighting the roles we all need to play to foster unity and build a broad-based, impactful movement. Also, join me for my new 6-part online and by-donation program "Magic for Challenging Times." We will meet across 6 Wednesdays beginning on April 16th, 2025. Sessions are recorded so you can join at any time!Learn more: https://earthactivisttraining.org/magic-for-challenging-times/
