Or was it because who Jesus is, what He's about, and the idea of having a relationship with Him was so irresistible that you couldn't help but give your life to Him and jump on board with the Kingdom? What made you follow Jesus?The message that Micah has for us is that if you love Jesus for any other reason then who Jesus is and having a relationship with Him, you're in a dangerous spot. The kingdom of Judah believed that they were untouchable because God promised to protect them, but Micah tells them that they're loving a promise of God rather than actually loving God. The evidence is how they live their lives.Let's face it: a lot of the time, we like to love God's promises and the ways we benefit from Him more than Himself. But thank God that's not how God loves us.
