Every time I visit London I go to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square for another date with the most celebrated Queen Elizabeth I. I sit and watch her and try and get into her head. What was she thinking? How did she manage to reign and rule for so long in a world that was in economic, religious and political upheaval.
