Melissa Yu is a forensic analyst at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Ontario. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Archaeology with Forensic Science at the University of Exeter in England. She then received her Master of Science in Crime and Forensic Science at the University College London. Following her studies, Melissa faced a time of discouragement as she struggled to achieve the career of her dreams in forensics. Over the course of four years, Melissa worked hard to improve her skillset; she worked as a private investigator and completed a Medical Laboratory Technician diploma from Centennial College, which helped to achieve her current position at her dream workplace. In this conversation, Melissa tells us about her journey from learning tough lessons to never giving up. She provides great insight into studying abroad, archeology studies, and the field of forensics.
