Listen "Ep. 9: Unshakeable Confidence"
Episode Synopsis
We all struggle with confidence in some aspects of our lives. Confidence can be dualistic; you can be confident in public but hesitate to ask out your crush. It all comes down to the fear of failure. Most people learn to fear failure, but confidence is a muscle, and the only way to get better is to be ok with making mistakes and learning from them. Today, I reveal how you can let go of fear and grow your confidence muscles. I often say we spend twenty-five years learning, and the next twenty-five unlearning. Confidence is congruent with resilience. The more you shelter your children from experiencing loss and failure, the more it destroys their natural ability to persevere. Allowing them to fail builds those confidence muscles, and that skill will carry them far in life. You can build resilience at any age if you decide that it is ok to fail. You can learn to laugh at yourself and accept that not every moment of your life is perfect. By giving yourself permission to be human, you can start small and work out your confidence muscles to develop a sense of personal freedom untethered by fear.
