Listen "Stolen Devotion"
Episode Synopsis
Luke chapter 22 verse 3, Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve apostles.
Now remember that Judas had made an arrangement to betray Jesus Christ for money. And it's almost as if Satan followed the trail of stolen coins into Judas's heart because he knew that the money was in his heart and that's the means by which he got into his heart.
He knew that money had a hold of his heart and that's the means by which he got into Judas's heart.
Whatever you allow into your heart apart from Christ, Satan will follow the trail of your lust to win your heart. I mean, Satan will use anything that your heart pines after, anything that your heart lusts after to steal your devotion to Christ, to tamper with the simplicity and sincerity of your devotion to Christ.
And I know that we often think that Satan is only capable of using bad things to destroy us. But no! The bad guy will use good things if he has to, to accomplish bad things.
And so if wealth is what it takes to corrupt your devotion to Christ, then Satan is willing to use it. And if fame is what it takes, then he will give it.
Friends, as you read further in Luke chapter 22, you'll find that while Jesus was still speaking, Judas interrupted him and it dawned on me that sometimes before you betray Christ, you will lose respect for his word.
So here's what I want you to remember. Be careful in the moment of your life when you sense that God's word is without authority in your heart. It's a sign that your devotion to Christ is already being stolen.
Have blessed the friend.
