Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final. Goals from Kai Havertz and an own goal from Ben Davies positions the Blues well in the EFL. Nottingham Forest upset Arsenal as they beat the Gunners 1-0 at the City Ground. A 83rd minute goal from Lewis Grabban secured the win for Forest and eliminates the Gunners from the FA Cup. Manchester United beat Aston VIlla 1-0 at Old Trafford to advance into the 4th round of the FA Cup.The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations kicked off on Sunday and will prove to be an entertaining blend of strong teams, top players, and competitive matchups all across January and into early February. The 33rd edition of the tournament was pushed back from the summer of 2021 and is now set to finally get under way. The tournament will be hosted by Cameroon with a total of 52 games to be played across 29 days.The favorites to win the competition include Africa's highest-ranked side in Senegal, ranked 20th in the latest FIFA rankings, plus defending champions Algeria, star-studded Egypt, and a Morocco side with plenty of experience. Among the 24 qualified teams are 10 former winners of the event. There are also two debutants to the collection, with Comoros and The Gambia competing in their first AFCON tournament.
