Today we're going to talk about confidence. “Confidence” is from Latin and it means “with trust.” So here's the big question, guys... do you trust yourself? ...Now, hopefully most of you said “yes.” If you don't though, try and examine why. Usually if people are questioning things a lot and having to ask everyone, make decisions by committee, say “hey what do you think about that should I do this? What about you, what do you think about this?” it's because something happened in our lives that made us doubt our decision-making skills. For instance, if something happened and it didn't turn out the way you thought it was going to, you might then second-guess yourself and your judgment because you were like “well, I was wrong last time.” Here's the thing; you can't keep making decisions for your future based off of mistakes from your past.
Let that sink in for a second. You can't keep making decisions for your future based on mistakes from your past. Stop carrying it around with you. Put it down. You do not need it, it is not serving you. All you're doing is tormenting yourself, making yourself miserable, and a little crazy. So let's talk about trust. Go through your past decisions and give yourself credit for all the good decisions you've made. And then, if there were decisions you made that things did not go well, it was either one or two things that happened. One, you were completely blindsided and you had no idea, in which case you didn't have some information, and that is not your fault, so do not blame yourself. Now you know for next time to double-check something or what have you. And then two, you knew it was bad idea and then it kind of turned out the way that you knew it was going to, so at least trust yourself on that. You knew how it was going to go on that so it's not like you can't trust your decision making skills. Well, it's not like you can't trust your ability to know what's going on around you... your decision-making skills however… ask yourself why it is that you made that decision. Usually in a situation like that it’s because you wanted the instant gratification. You know, you wanted to feel better in the moment, or you were coming from a place of fear or anger, and not from Love. And, you know, that's also not a good way to live your life.
Let's get back to trust. So if you're having trouble trusting yourself, or you’re lacking confidence, make a list of everything you can think of that you have done for yourself that has been for your highest good. If you have just started exercise routine, that's for your highest good, that's going to help you out a lot, or you know if you're eating better. It can be little things, like you put socks on before you went to sleep at night because you knew that if you have cold feet you’re not going to be able to fall asleep really well, but you decided to do that and take care of yourself and fall asleep, and you had a good night's sleep. So, look at all these things little or big and give yourself credit for them. And then if you want you can - I would not recommend fixating on these “mistakes” that you've made, but you can write those down and kind of go over you know “why did I do these things? what was it that I was wanting? what was it that was lacking in my life? what void was I trying to fill by doing these things” and then once you know
