In July 2020 Qantas retired the last remaining Boeing 747 aircraft from its fleet. The flight departed Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport and made its way across the Pacific Ocean finally coming to rest in the massive aircraft boneyard in the Mojave Desert. It was a poignant moment for both Qantas and Australia as a nation. It signalled the end of an era. But every ending is also the beginning of something new and as much as there was sadness surrounding that final flight, there was also a sense of optimism looking forward to the future to the new adventures that lie ahead.
