Today we’re in John 5, at the pool of Bethesda. A place filled with people waiting for healing. Among them was a man who had been laying there for 38 years. Just waiting.Jesus comes to him and asks a surprising question, “Do you want to be healed?” Not because Jesus didn’t know the answer, but because He wanted the man to seek Him.The man responds by explaining why he can’t get into the pool. He was waiting on something else to heal him. But Jesus looks at him and says, “Pick up your mat and walk.” And instantly, he’s healed.It was never about the water. Jesus is the living water. He is our healer.So today, ask yourself, what am I waiting on to heal me? What am I placing my hope in outside of Jesus?
