Episode Synopsis
EPISODE 18 - Updating an Old Episode if the Content is No Longer Relevant
So what do you do if an older episode of your podcast is no longer relevant, you don't support the program, website or topic that you talked about way back in the day - something has changed - maybe it is you - you've changed. Maybe the service is no longer available or you no longer suggest that people do the thing you spoke about back in the day.
Well that happened recently for me right here in episode 18 - this episode was all about my new found fascination with Clubhouse - it was a big deal, but now it is a big time suck filled with nothing burger conversations with salespeople trying to sell to salespeople.
So what do you do when your content is no longer relevant? I went in an updated my content and simply replaced the audio, changed the title of this episode and the episode description for one very important reason - I have had countless listeners that have found my show and have gone back to the begining and started listening to the show from episode 1 - and then they find an episode with out of date content that is no longer relevant - so without uploading a new episode 18 and confusing everyone with two versions of this episode I just use the "Replace Audio" option overwriting the old with the new - this keeps my total listens for this episode and leaves episode 18 where it was in my feed with updated content.
