Listen "Will ISRO Launch Their First Humanoid Robot To Space"
Episode Synopsis
ISRO hopes to launch a human into space for the first time. The development of a crew module and rocket systems that will guarantee the safe flight and return of the Indian astronaut is a race against time. While other nations that have successfully launched humans into space have done so after testing their rockets and crew recovery systems on animals, ISRO will employ a humanoid to see how well its GSLV Mk III rocket performs while carrying a person into orbit and back down again. The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre's robotics lab is where the humanoid is currently being developed. For its space endeavors, ISRO has a lot of expertise building robotic systems. The Vikram lander system, which was utilized for the September 2019 Chandrayaan 2 mission to the Moon, was built on artificial intelligence. It did this by calculating distances, speeds, and processing directives stored in the lander systems.
