Listen "Immunity for Health Care During COVID-19"
Episode Synopsis
In the confusing early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, New York State took steps to protect healthcare institutions and their workers from lawsuits over decisions made to combat the mounting crisis. The state issued a broad grant of immunity in the interests of “the public health, safety and welfare of all citizens.” But not everyone saw this as a great idea, and soon discussion began about rolling back the grant of immunity. In this episode of the Harris Beach Podcast, partner Emily Crowley discusses the state’s changing approach to lawsuit immunity and what it means now for workers and their employers.
