Listen "Ruth 1"
Episode Synopsis
This morning, Sarah Lyew begins our summer series on the story and book of Ruth. We will be working through this book during our four weeks in the theatre this summer. Our next in-theatre meeting will be on July 27th. Please note that we had an issue with the recording this morning so the quality is a bit on the low side of things. Please find the slide deck for this week's teaching here.Home Church Questions:1. Read Ruth 1. What stood out to you? Is there a verse that you connected with? If so, have you tried Lectio Divina before? You can read about it here. If there’s a verse or a part that stood out, sit with it and take time to hear what Jesus may be saying to you.2. What’s your first impressions of Ruth and Naomi? How would you describe them?3. Sarah referenced Naomi as the female Job: faithful to God yet hit with destruction with no reason. Have you ever felt that way? How did you respond?4. Why do you think Ruth refused to leave Naomi?5. Who is someone who shared your grief? How did that change your experience?6. What is Jesus saying to you through this part of Ruth’s story?7. Pray with and for one another.Be in touch.
