Peace is something everyone wants, but true peace is not something we can earn. It’s not something you can attain after many years of hard work. True peace isn’t found in a peace treaty between nations. It’s not found when you get the house you always wanted, or you have the money you need to retire, or your kids are perfect. Those things might bring a measure of happiness or a temporary feeling of relief, but they are not a true picture of peace. It’s not the type of peace that has eternal value. Instead, genuine, lasting, joy-filled peace only starts when we have peace with God.
